China Media Group (CMG) held a press conference on 2025 Spring Festival Gala on Sunday to introduce the highlights of the program and technological innovations, as well as the official announcement of the host lineup.

As the first CMG Spring Festival Gala since the festival’s inscription on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, this year’s gala integrates more elements of intangible cultural heritage to create a cultural feast full of new ideas for the global audience.

The upcoming gala invites ordinary people from all walks of life to become protagonists and accompany Chinese people in their celebrations of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

In terms of technological innovation, this year’s gala continues to deepen 8K technology application and the use of AI and “XR+ digital twin +VP” shooting, thus creating an infinite virtual stage space and enriching the visual presentation on vertical screen by achieving 360-degree and 3D watching.

Besides, for the first time this year’s gala will feature barrier-free broadcasts tailored for visually and hearing-impaired audiences, which will allow them to fully enjoy the cultural feast.

For example, sign language interpreters will provide sign language interpretation at the gala concert hall through AR virtual technology.

In addition, popular CCTV hosts Ren Luyu, Sa Beining, Nigemaiti Reheman, Long Yang, Ma Fanshu will co-host the gala’s main event in Beijing

The gala will be aired across multiple platforms, including 4K Ultra HD channel, 8K Ultra HD channel and new media platforms such as CCTV news and CRI, at 8 p.m. on January 28.

Internationally, English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Russian channels of CGTN, along with 82 foreign language communication platforms, will cooperate with more than 2,600 overseas mainstream media outlets in 200 countries and regions around the world to broadcast and report on the gala.
