China’s foreign trade performed steadily in the first two months of 2025, with the total volume of goods trade reaching 6.54 trillion yuan ($912.07 billion), according to the General Administration of Customs on Friday.
This represented a decrease of 1.2 percent from a year earlier, customs data showed. But after excluding the impact of “incomparable factors” including two fewer working days in 2025, China’s total goods imports and exports grew by 1.7 percent year on year.
Exports rose 3.4 percent from the same period last year to reach 3.88 trillion yuan, while imports went down 7.3 percent year on year.
In the first two months, China’s exports to ASEAN increased by 6.8 percent, exports to the EU went up 1.8 percent while exports to the US were up 3.4 percent. Exports to countries jointly building the Belt and Road increased by 2.4 percent.
